Synopsis：
"Epic of A Stone" follows a Greek white marble from a perspective that transcends individual experiences, witnessing how it undergoes transportation, transformation, appropriation, and deconstruction within the marble and tourism supply chains in Greece and China, ascending step by step on the spiral of China. Through this journey of the mechanical reproduction era, it depicts the late globalization of the food chain and the panorama of sentient beings, looking back at that era in China when material accumulation surged forward.

Director's Biography
Wang Shen, of Hui ethnicity, was born in 1991 in Chengde, Hebei province, and currently lives between Beijing and Amsterdam. He graduated from the Communication University of China with a bachelor's degree and obtained a master's degree from the Beijing Film Academy. He is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts at the Utrecht School of the Arts in the Netherlands.
His debut documentary feature "Fangzhou" was nominated for Best Dutch Film at the IDFA Amsterdam Documentary Film Festival and was selected for various international film festivals including the One World Festival in the Czech Republic and the EIDF in South Korea.
His second documentary feature "Epic of A Stone" was nominated for Best Dutch Film at the IDFA Amsterdam Documentary Film Festival and won the Golden Coconut Award at the Hainan Island International Film Festival. It also received the Upward Jury Award in the Production Unit at the Pingyao International Film Exhibition, the Best Documentary Award at the Reykjavik International Film Festival in Iceland, the Best Documentary Award at the Duhok International Film Festival in Iraq, and a Special Mention Award at the Bergamo Film Festival in Italy. Additionally, it was selected for numerous international film festivals including the Melbourne International Film Festival, the Swiss Real Cinema Festival, the Copenhagen Documentary Film Festival, the Toronto Documentary Film Festival, the Southern Film Festival in Taiwan, and the Lincoln Center Real Arts Festival in New York.
