本届影展以 “真实边界：流动世界中的身份境遇与记忆” 为主题，选映一系列横跨中国大陆、香港、台湾、新加坡、北美与东南亚的独立纪录片与短片。这些影片通过个体的亲身经历，呈现出在迁徙、压迫、重建、离散与回望之间的情感与现实张力，探索边界何以划定，身份如何生成，记忆又如何在流动中被传承与质疑。
本次展映不仅是一次影像的呈现，更是一次对话的召唤——在复杂与撕裂的现实中重新思考文化身份与历史经验，连接那些游移于边界之间的真实生命。
The 2025 screening takes “Real Boundaries: Identity, Displacement, and Memory in a World in Flux” as its theme, presenting a curated selection of independent documentaries and shorts from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, North America, and Southeast Asia. These films unfold through personal narratives that trace experiences of migration, oppression, reconstruction, diaspora, and reflection—revealing the emotional and political tensions of our time. They ask how borders are drawn, how identities form, and how memory survives in motion.
This is not only a cinematic showcase but a call to dialogue—an invitation to rethink cultural identity and historical consciousness amidst fractured realities, and to connect with the lives lived across blurred frontiers.
2025华语独立影像展的美国大华府（DMV）展映区由 SinoVisual Culture and Arts Institute, Inc.（华语视觉文化与艺术研究所） 与 Chinese Independent Film Association（华语独立电影协会） 联合发起，并与 JF Books（季风书园） 共同主办，乔治城大学、乔治·华盛顿大学亚洲研究中心 协办，得到 US-China Education Trust、CAF at GW 以及 Uyghur Studies Initiative 的支持。影展将在美国华盛顿特区乔治城大学和乔治·华盛顿大学举行，集展映、对谈与交流于一体，聚焦当代华语独立影像在全球语境中的跨文化表达。
2025华语独立影像展的加拿大卡尔加里展映区由 SinoVisual Culture and Arts Institute, Inc.（华语视觉文化与艺术研究所） 与 Chinese Independent Film Association（华语独立电影协会）、卡尔加里知音合唱团、卡城江浙上海联谊会共同主办。
The Washington, D.C. (DMV) screening section of the 2025 Screening of Sinophone Independent Films is co-initiated by SinoVisual Culture and Arts Institute, Inc. and the Chinese Independent Film Association, co-hosted with JF Books (Monsoon Book Club), in collaboration with Georgetown University and the Sigur Center for Asian Studies at The George Washington University, and supported by the US-China Education Trust, CAF at GW, and the Uyghur Studies Initiative. The screenings and discussions will take place at Georgetown University and The George Washington University, centering on the transnational expression of Sinophone independent cinema in a global context.
The Calgary section of the 2025 Screening of Sinophone Independent Films is co-organized by SinoVisual Culture and Arts Institute, Inc., Chinese Independent Film Association, Calgary Zhi-Yin Choir, and Shanghai Cultural Society of Calgary.
