MAP OF TRACES unfolds as a tender letter, exploring the landscapes of Hong Kong and the subtle traces left by its people. Through the memories of those who departed, stayed, or wandered, the film quietly observes the rhythm of the city—a delicate interplay between change and stillness—revealing a mosaic of fleeting moments and intimate connections.
导演的话 / Director’s Statement
近年的香港，风景变得陌生，有人离开，有人留下，有人停在中途，不知道该往哪里去。街道依旧是那些街道，但每一处细小的痕迹都在慢慢消退。看似无关紧要，却像某种暗号，成为彼此的坐标。
影片关于一段未完的对话，一个无人占据的位置，一座轮廓逐渐模糊的山岭，和一个城市未被遗忘的记忆。
In recent years, the landscape of Hong Kong has grown unfamiliar. Some have left, some have stayed, and some are stuck in between, unsure of where to go. The streets are still the same streets, yet every small trace is gradually fading away. They may seem insignificant, but they feel like secret codes, connecting us to one another.
The film is about an unfinished conversation, an unoccupied seat, a mountain ridge whose outline is slowly blurring, and the memory of a city yet to be forgotten.
导演简介 / Director’s Bio
陈巧真现居香港，其创作深受日常经验启发，透过影像探索人与空间之间的微妙连结。她的作品曾于多个画廊及影展展出，包括多伦多国际电影节、台湾国际纪录片影展、日本映像论坛影展，以及香港的 WMA Space 和 Empty Gallery。
CHAN Hau Chun is a Hong Kong-based artist whose work is inspired by poetic minimalism and everyday imagery, focusing on the intersection of personal and collective narratives. Her films have been showcased at international festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival, Golden Horse Awards, Taiwan International Documentary Festival, Image Forum Festival, and International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, and Hong Kong’s WMA Space and Empty Gallery.
